Black wednesday : more than 12 people killed at the French magazine Charlie Hebdo
Masked gunmen attacked this morning the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. At least 12 people have been killed and four severely injured

French media reported that masked men armed with automatic weapons and a grenade launcher attacked at around 11.30 am (local time) the headquarters of Charlie Hebdo in the center of Paris (XIe district). The suspects managed to escape and are still on the run.
The French President Francois Hollande headed to the shooting scene where he talked about of “exceptional barbarity”. He added that “no barbaric act would ever kill the freedom of the press”. He announced that the level of terror alert has been raised after the shooting.
Charlie Hebdo was under police protection since 2011 when the magazine had been fire-bombed after publishing a cartoon depicting the Prophet Mohammed.
