Defamation. Briatore files lawsuit against L’Espresso on behalf of former cook
The well-known businessman Flavio Briatore announced that he will pursue legal action against the publishing group L’Espresso for the article published by the weekly on February 18 on the alleged millionaire account, emerged from the investigation on the Falciani list, which the entrepreneur would have paid into an HSBC Swiss bank account held by Barbara Faroni, former chef of the Renault Formula 1 team.
The magazine wrote that the woman would have demonstrated to the Guardia di Finanza how she was a stranger to the case and, quoting the documents of the investigation, that the Swiss account was not attributable to the former employee: its data would have been used fraudulently. Briatore has released a statement saying that the woman had a professional credit card, on the account of Formula FB Business, and that no account in her name has ever been opened. In a reply, L’Espresso stated that it had published the data of the investigation by the Guardia di Finanza.
