Mantua: chief editor and three reporters investigated for publication of documents
The articles spoke of an operation of the Anti-Mafia Directorate in Brescia on the infiltrations by the ‘Ndrangheta in Lombardy. Also the mayor of the city is involved. Solidarity
Under investigation for arbitrary publication of documents tied to a criminal trial: it occurred to the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Gazzetta di Mantova Paolo Boldrini, the senior editor of crime news Gabriele De Stefani and the reporters Igor Cipollina and Rossella Canadè. The prosecutor of the city has intervened following the daily’s publication in recent weeks of the documents of an operation by the anti-Mafia directorate of Brescia against ‘ndrangheta infiltrations in the institutions and the economy of Lombardy.
The articles being examined by the magistrates – those written by Canadè, Cipollina and De Stefani – concerned the “Pesci” operation and reported the content of an information note by the Carabinieri of the investigative unit of Mantua. The published material was already known by those arrested and those investigated. Among the latter, there is also the mayor of Mantua Nicola Sodano, for corruption and embezzlement.
