Order of Journalists of Sicily investigates on Montante funding and reporters’ correctness
Sicilian reporters and newspapers would have received contributions from the president of the regional Confindustria. The case of an interview eliminated for alleged pressures
The Order of Journalists of Sicily has launched an inquiry on the economic relations between some reporters and Antonello Montante, the president of Confindustria in Sicily under investigation for mafia crimes by the prosecutors of Caltanissetta and Catania following charges and statements released by a few pentiti.
The investigation must determine whether the entrepreneur has financed, and how, publishing initiatives and individual journalists and, in particular, if four journalists have violated their ethical duties.
This fact reported by the Republic of Palermo, explaining that what raised the attention on the case was an interview published in the monthly II Fatto Nisseno and erased a few hours later.
