Racalmuto: former mayor on trial for offenses via internet

Direct citation for the author of the article and the editor of the news outlet LinkSicilia. They claimed that the town council had been dissolved unjustly

They will have to appear before the judge of the Court of Agrigento on 28 April 2015, with the dual aggravating attribution of certain facts as well as having posted offensive material on the internet. Salvatore Petrotto, former mayor of Racalmuto (in the province of Agrigento) and the journalist Giulio Ambrosetti, former editor-in-chief of LinkSicilia stand accused of having questioned the reputation of the entrepreneurs Giuseppe and Lorenzo Catanzaro, representatives of the construction company that goes by the same name and which operates in the waste disposal industry.
The prosecutor of Agrigento who is in charge of the case issued a decree for direct citation to trial for Petrotto, since he was the author, and Ambrosetti, since he was the representative responsible for the news outlet. There are three published articles that are being indicted, where it stated that the former mayor of the town council “dissolved for mafia infiltration, released statements that the dissolution was determined because the same Petrotto had denounced to the competent prosecutor the case of illegal contracts relating to the waste management practices in the Agrigento area and Sicily.”
