Defamation. Bari. Two Journalists acquitted after ten years
The story began with an article of 2005. The reporter of the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno had written that many workers at the University of Bari were family relations
The reporter Nicola Pepe and Nicola Patruno, former chief editor of the daily La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, were accused of defamation by prof. Nicola Cipriani of the University of Bari, have been acquitted by the Court of Appeal of Bari on June 4th, 2015, because the offense is not deemed a crime.
Prof. Cipriani had sued the two journalists for an article published in 2005 in which Pepe had written of an alleged “familygate” within the University of Bari, where many employees share the same surname and blood relations.
