Naples. Another attack to the car of “Il Roma” reporter
Holes drilled in the wheels of the car of Fabio Postiglione. It is the fifth act of intimidation since July 2015. Order and Union write to the Prefect and seek protection
New act of intimidation in Naples against Fabio Postiglione, journalist of Il Roma. In the night between 9 and 10 December 2015, unknown assailants drilled holes in the wheels of his car, an Opel Corsa, parked in the street near his home. It is the fifth time that the journalist suffered damages of the same type since the end of July 2015. “Please stop it, I’ve ran out of money!” he wrote on his Facebook page, commenting on the latest episode. Postiglione noticed the damage on 11 December and the following day he reported the incident to the Police of Naples, who is investigating to track down the culprits.
The Order of Journalists of Campania and the Union of Journalists of Campania reported the incident to the Prefect of Naples, Gerarda Pantalone, to whom they have requested an urgent meeting. “It is worrying – they say in a letter, dated 11 December 2015 – that as a result of the complaints no security service has been activated, so much so that those who acted did so without problems.” Waiting for an appointment, and Odg and Sugc solicit also “the activation of all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the colleague.”
Ossigeno had already covered a story involving Postiglione in September 9, 2015, when unknown persons had destroyed the rear window of his car. On that occasion Odg and union had requested a meeting with the Police commissioner.
