Benedetta Salsi had just written exclusively on Il Resto del Carlino that the Court had decided restrictive measures for an Italian convert to Islam
The journalist of Il Resto del Carlino, Benedetta Salsi, was grossly offended by a threatening post appeared at 7 am on 25 February 2015 on the Facebook page of the group Muslims of Italy, where she is defined as “Islamophobic” and vulgar insinuations are vented about her private life. Salsi, on the same day, filed a complaint for defamation against unknown persons to the Digos Unit of Reggio.
A few hours earlier, on the online edition of Il Resto del Carlino of Reggio Emilia, the journalist had published an article entitled “The convert to Islam is dangerous”: he can not go out at night. Solidarity with the reporter was expressed by the board of the editorial staff for which she works. Another offensive post appeared on Muslims of Italy on February 26, 2016, against the journalist Andrea Fiori who had told on the Resto del Carlino his colleague’s case.
