Ossigeno: Newspapers could do more to help threatened journalists
Certainly newspapers, radio and television could help much more threatened journalists and bloggers. Above all they could give space and visibility to attempts to blackout unappreciated news with violence and abuses. They could publish regularly news on these episodes. Unfortunately they almost never do it not even when the journalist or the blogger is part of their own editorial team. This media silence contributes to the isolation of the victims and helps those who threaten them. This is maintained by Alberto Spampinatao director of the Italian Observatory during his participation at the international conference on the theme, “Italy and Spain : Liberty and Censorship: the great silence” which took place at Complutense University.
